Church Planting Ministry
Arkansas Home Mission Society exists for the purpose of beginning new congregations in
our State.  Over the past several years, several projects have resulted in not only new
churches, but new disciples following Jesus Christ.
Rev. Don Gregory, Church Planting Coordinator
CrossBridge is in the process of purchasing a building and could use some assistance in
remodeling the facility.  To volunteer your help, contact Ron Byrd at
cpronaldbyrd@comcast.net or 501.213.5017.
Pastor Pedro
Ramirez-Flota works to
begin new Hispanic
churches in the State of
Arkansas.  He presently
has congregations in
Heber Springs and
Clinton. You can email

doing very well. They celebrated their first anniversary in Clinton this month and the
attendance was about 100. Praise the Lord for great things He has done! The mission is
supporting Pedro in a declining scale while the church is increasing their financial
commitment to Pedro.

An important part of our ministry toward Pedro's family is the effort to get his permanent
residency. It is amazing to me that millions of Hispanics come to America illegally every year,
yet those who are trying to get residency through the legal system seem to be penalized.
The good news is that we know the government is now working on Pedro's permanent
residency paperwork. I had a visit last week from the Homeland Security Agency. They were
interviewing me about the work of AHMS and trying to understand the General Baptist
denomination. After a few hours I felt like I had answered all of their questions and given
paperwork to back up our petition. Pray that we will get the final answer soon and that it will
be positive. In the mean time, we are having to apply for an extension on the R-1 visa under
which Pedro is currently working. There shouldn't be any problem getting that visa extended.

Our second work at the present time is the Crossbridge Church in Bryant, under the
leadership of Ron Byrd. Pastor Ron has done a fine job for us there and the church is
seeing slow growth. To get to the 'next level' their church bought a piece of commercial
property and they are currently renovating it into a church. However, they had to leave their
rental unit in which they had been worshipping. They have been doing the renovation for a
few months now and unfortunately, the bulk of the work is falling on the shoulders of a very
few people. They need your help. The loan that they took out to finish this building is being
gobbled up by cost overruns. For instance, in order to do the ministry in this building, they
are having to hook on to the city sewer when there was already a septic system on the
property. This is costing them in the tens of thousands of dollars. They are in the process
now of hanging sheetrock. In a matter of a few days they could be finished with that part of
the project. Next they will finish the sheetrock and paint. I spoke with Ron yesterday about
his floor covering. He said there doesn't appear to be any money in the budget for finishing
the floors. They hope to do a daycare ministry in this building. I believe this is an area that
we can and should help. Would you please consider taking up a special offering to help get
their floor covering? While the exact cost is undetermined at this time, it will cost in the low
thousands of dollars. My guess is just under $5,000. Churches, I know you care about
missions! I know you want to help get this project to completion.
WE NEED YOUR HELP! IF
YOU CAN DONATE $10 OR $1,000, IT WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

If you take an offering or make a personal donation, please send it to me, Don Gregory,
5340 Airways, Southhaven, MS 38671. You can make your check to Arkansas Home Mission
Society. I will collect the money and then we will turn it over to the Crossbridge Church.

Thanks for all you are doing in your area to extend the kingdom of God.

Sincerely,

Don Gregory

At the present time AHMS is in the declining support period on two
different missions. The first one is the Hispanic Work in Heber Springs
and Clinton. Pedro Ramirez is doing a great work here, especially in
Clinton where the Spanish speaking people are really responding to the
message of Christ. They recently rented their own facility. Prior to that
the Clinton General Baptist Church was allowing them to use their facility
on Saturday evenings. What a ministry the Clinton Church was doing for
the Hispanic Community! The church, Comunidad Esperanza Nueva, is
