Our Presbytery
Rev. Jay Bittle was ordained as a Minister of the Gospel on
Friday, March 14 at Sunny Slope Church. W. T. Bittle, Jay's
father, preached the Charge to the Candidate and Rev.
Dwight Decker, Jay's pastor, led the prayer of ordination.

Deacon candidates set aside for one year:
-Robert Witt-Heber Springs
-Shawn Reeves-Macedonia
Ministers licensed for one year:
-Brent Patchell-Pleasant Ridge
-Johnny Duggins Jr.-North Little Rock
Ordinations:
-Jay Bittle was ordained to the ministry.
-Carl Vanaman to be ordained as deacon at Gravel Ridge on April 18
-Searcy will ordain Brad Bates, Layman Cato and Harry Hohenstein as deacons
at the next presbytery meeting to be held at Searcy on July 11
Elections:
-J.C. Watts was elected as a minister to the credentials committee
-Jimmy Thompson was elected to credentials committee as deacon
-Jim Grant will be presbytery moderator for 2008
-Robert Hunt was elected as vice-moderator

Other info:
-Chris Carlton, a minister from Post Oak Grove Association has united with the
Macedonia GB church and is availabe for fill-in duty
-Jonathan Rice recently resigned as pastor at Searcy and has moved his
credentials to MoArk Association where he has accepted a pastorate
-Carroll Howell has resigned as a deacon at Sunny Side.

Ordinations:
- Brad Bates, Layman Cato and Harry Hohenstein as deacons at the Searcy
Church. Message was delivered by long-time pastor Dale Bates. Pastor Jay
Bittle led in prayer as the presbytery gathered for laying on of hands.
Other info:
-Carroll Howell sent a letter requesting to be reinstated as a deacon at
Sunny Side General Baptist Church. Motion carried.
- Rev. James Williams was introduced as the new pastor of Claremont
Avenue Church. Acceptance to the presbytery is pending his meeting with
the Examining Committee in the near future.
The next meeting of the presbytery will be held at New Bethel Church on November 7.
