Notes from the July 10, 2009 Meeting
Notes from the Feb. 27, 2009  Meeting
Moderator Jim Grant opened the meeting by asking Wetzel Stark to lead in a
congregational.   Brother Stark led in “O Worship the King” followed by a prayer
by Billy Henderson.    Host pastor, Dennis Powell gave the welcome.

Roger Harlan served as parliamentarian and the temporary credentials
committee consisted of Jeff Thomas, Brian Harlan and Willie Stone.    They
reported there were 11 churches, 16 ministers, and 30 deacons.

Other business included:

-Flat Creek Association of Indiana sent a letter of good standing for Novy
Newkirk, pastor of New Bethel.
-Heber Springs requested that Ignacio Valdez be dropped from the presbytery.
-Macedonia requested that Shawn Reeves be allowed to be examined by the
credentials committee in consideration for the position of deacon.
-Macedonia requested to be the host of the July session of the presbytery.
-Wesley Chapel was received as a member of Wolf Bayou and requested that
Gary Tully be accepted as a deacon to the presbytery.

All of these motions were carried unanimously.

Elections:
Wetzel Stark as vice moderator, Robert Hunt automatically moved up to
moderator. Roger Harlan was elected for a 3-year term to the credentials
committee and Michael Roberson was re-elected to a second 2-year term. Gary
Lacy was re-elected as reading clerk and Eric Decker was elected as
secretary/treasurer.

Ordinations:
Robert Witt of First General Heber Springs was ordained as deacon. Pastor
Dennis Powell spoke on 7 positions in the church and how they each served
crucial ministries in the church.    Those 7 were Apostles, Evangelists, Deacons,
Elders, Prophets, Pastors and Teachers. Deacon means ‘to serve’ or ‘helper’.    
The Wolf Bayou Presbytery met in regular session on July 10, 2009 at
Macedonia General Baptist Church. Welcome was by Bro. Roger Harlan and the
meeting was called to order by Bro. Wetzel Stark. The Credentials committee
reported there were 8 churches, 7 ministers, and 17 deacons.

Bro. Gary Lacy read the minutes from the previous meeting and they were
accepted by the body.

Four letters were brought to the floor. Letters from New Bethel requested that
Bro. James Reese be placed on the honorary deacon's roll and that Bro. Wade
Cross and Don Martin were elected as candidate deacons and have been set
aside for one year.

Post Oak Grove Presbytery asked for letters of good standing for Bro. Terry
Mote and Bro. Pedro Ramirez.

The Credentials committee recommended that Bro. Shawn Reeves be ordained
and granted membership into the Wolf Bayou Presbytery.

Motions were made and passed.

Motion was made and passed to go to New Bethel for the November session.
Motion passed. Motion made and passed to adjourn the business part of the
meeting.
Notes from the November 9, 2009 Meeting
Meeting
The Wolf Bayou Presbytery met in regular session on November 9th, 2009 at
New Bethel in Bald Knob. The meeting was opened by congregational singing.
Vice-moderator Wetzel Stark welcomed everyone and then we were led in an
opening prayer.

Bro. Billy Henderson was named Parliamentarian and the temporary credentials
committee consisted of Robert Witt, Jerry Sartain, and Jerry slayton. They
reported their finding that their were 8 churches, 10 ministers, 23 deacons.

Other Business:

Wilburn General Baptist Church sent two letters, one requesting that Bro. Darrell
Southerland be pu ton the honorary deacons list, and the second requestong
that Bro. Rick Johnson be set aside for one year for the office of deacon. Both
were granted by a motion which carried.

First General Baptist Church of Heber Springs requested that Kyle McCleland
be accepted into the body by letter of transfer.

First General Baptist Church of Searcy requested that Curtis Fain be licensed
as minister.

Drasco General Baptist Church requested that Norman Cannon and Bob
Pearcy, having served their year, be examined and be ordained as deacon.

The Credentials committee recommended that all requested be granted. Motion
carried.

The March Presbytery will be held at Heber Springs.

A motion was made and carried to adjourn the business and turn the service
over to Bro. Jay Bittle for worship.
