The Arkansas Family Council is leading an effort to get a ballot initiative on the November ballot.  This legislation is commonly referred to as the Adoption and Foster Care Act.  This act, if passed by the vote of the people, would make only married couples and single adults eligible to be foster parents or to adopt.  It would disqualify anyone living in a homosexual relationship or in a heterosexual relationship outside of marriage.  The Family Council is distributing petitions in order to get this on the November ballot.  They need 100,000 signatures of registered voters in the State.  Many churches are leading the effort to get the petitions signed so this can be on our ballot.  You might want to contact the Family Council Action Committee for more information.  501.375.7000
