Junior Camp 2011: A Christmas to Remember

We had an amazing week at Junior Camp this year. We had 95 campers, 18 teen workers, and 25 adult workers. We had wonderful alter services with many first time confessions of faith as well as many rededications. Our early Services were focused on the Ten Commandments, led by Curtis Fain. If you have not had a camper recite them for you yet, you are missing out. Evening services were different each night with various wonderful speakers such as: Marcus Hutto, Dennis Powell, Ron Byrd and Jay Bittle.

Mornings at Junior Camp were full of classes such as Rocking Around the Christmas Tree Traditions, led by Shirley Wood that taught different traditions of Christmas. We had Jingle Bell Bible Stories being taught by Amy Hutto and Jennifer Crawford and by Pam Powell and Calyn Harmon. We also had Go tell it on the Mountain Music with Emily Harmon with different Christmas carols, and Away in a Manger Movie with Andrew Powell featuring different biblical Christmas cartoons. Brandi Hill and Meagan McDaniel took care of Holly Jolly Christmas Crafts while Kyle and Bethany McCleland along with Devin Ramsey led Reindeer Games. If you made it to a service during the week you might have been able to see a wonderful skit produced by Amy Powell or a Choir performance led by Emily Harmon.

We were so blessed to have the best Camp staff again this year. No one had time to sit and relax it was go go go! We had afternoon activities led by Sonja Nelson that included a Winter WipeOut and a Christmas Festival, water day and the best part of camp. Formosa’s Got Talent!! It was wonderful you would not believe the talent these campers’s have. We had a group division for the teams as well as individual talent.

I have to say it was a Christmas to Remember in June for sure. Thank you all for your help, prayer and donations.
